Access to essential medicines, diagnostics and medical devices for NCDs: Priorities for the 4th UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs

The 4th UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs offers a critical platform to tackle global challenges in accessing essential medicines, diagnostics, and medical devices for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

The NCD Policy Lab, in collaboration with the NCD Alliance and key NGOs, organized a thematic webinar on 23 January 2025 to convene stakeholders from the NCD community. The primary aim of the webinar was to foster dialogue and collaboration on the barriers to accessing NCD treatments, diagnostics, and technologies. It served as a space to align strategies, share insights, and build momentum in the lead-up to the UN High-Level Meeting, ensuring a unified approach towards achieving equitable access to NCD care globally.

The webinar also introduced a policy brief with recommendations to improve equitable access to NCD treatments developed by the NCD Policy Lab, NCD Alliance and a group of key NGOs, which is available online under resources.
